Honestly, we didn't know much about the city of Kaunas before we went. Viewed from afar, it seems only associated with basketball, cafés and a decent student vibe. But close up, the second largest city in Lithuania sets new national trends, whether about the switch to the euro, family planning, the return of emigrants or the inevitable populism.
