- 23rd London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival

The UK's third largest film festival, the 23rd London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, opens its doors at the British Film Institute on the Southbank this Wednesday 25th March (until 8th April). This year's programme includes a retrospective on maverick German lesbian director Ulrike Ottinger and a range of films from Europe. Avant-garde German director, Monika Treut also makes a return to the festival with her latest feature Ghosted, fresh from its world premiere at month's Berlin Film Festival

- European Election Husting - What do the European Elections mean?

With less than 100 days to go till the European elections this June, what will the Elections mean for London? What do Londoners expect from their MEPs? These are just some of the questions set to be addressed at a European election husting organised by the London Press Club this Friday 27th March. London European election candidates from Labour, Conservative, Lib Dem, Green and UKIP will each set out their stall and answer questions from an audience drawn from the media and the City. - Oxford and Cambridge boat race

The 155th annual boat race between the two historic universities takes place on the river Thames on Sunday 29 March. Starting at 15.40 (BST), the two boats will race the 4 miles 375 yards (6.78km) from Putney Bridge to Chiswick Bridge, navigating three bends in the river. Any bets on who’s going to win this year? Cambridge is currently ahead with 79 wins, to Oxford’s 74.

- French Connection Friday Late Mad Hatters @the V&A

On the last Friday of every month, London's leading art and design museum, the V&A hosts a contemporary late night event in the museum. Centred around a theme or exhibition, the evenings feature live performances, guest DJ's and often hands-on activities as well as a late bar. This Friday, 27th March, it's all about hats - an evening dedicated to exploring British traditions in headwear and the skill of designing and making hats! Events include "Pimp my hat", an Easter Paper Bonnet Parade and a traditional English tea party! Entry is free, so mad hatters would be mad to miss it!
