Why this media partnership? Because both Cafebabel.com and 'A Soul for Europe' contribute to the building of a European citizenship. And we approve it! What's the Towards a Citizens' Europe conference about ?
On 20 November 2010, the conference Towards a Citizens' Europe will open the reflection on European citizenship focusing on 3 main axes: the role of citizens in European construction, the image of Europe and new forms of cooperation between culture, business and politics.
The aim is to question the need for a new understanding of (cultural) civicness in order to build a Europe with stronger civic roots. European integration entails promoting national images, value systems and intercultural dialogue. Cultural activities must make their influence felt beyond the cultural sector and European affairs that have so far been of a mainly economic and political nature need a cultural dimension.
