I am rather astonished by the amount of attention it is given. I do not understand why Slovaks and Bulgarians feel to be insulted and why there is such a fuss about it. It is said to be a diplomatic faux-pas, a hoax… Are not there more different issues to be discussed nowadays? Are not we supposed to solve the gas crisis, crisis in Gaza and who know what other crises?

I think people tend to adhere to their own nationality more than it is appropriate. Is it not just a coincidence that you were born in here? It should have been anywhere in this world or you could have moved to Mongolia after you had been born. Who would you be now? A Czech or a Mongolian? Interests of which country would you defend? What is everybody so proud of the country (s)he comes from? If we could rise above some things, if only politicians could rise above some things… today, we might not be able to define an ethnic conflict. Entropa I come from Slovakia and that salami wrapped around by the Hungarian tricolor does not nark me. By the way… why should it nark me? 20 years ago, the author would have been persecuted. This sculpture would have never arisen. Today, it lies in the political heart of Europe. Is it not that what everybody was fighting for? I am convinced, when I have a look on this from a different point of view, that Entropa is a proof of the path that has been already passed by the part of Europe behind the iron curtain…
