Dear Europa, dear Europe, You said: nationalism, that is for the past. We are all friends now. We are all one. How could you let me live in the belief I could be working for a great international organization one day? Now, it is like you are destroying the platform for your promises.
Dear Europa, dear Europe,
Why do you ignore me?
You raised me in the belief we were all one.
We were all equal.
We would all have a bright future.
You said: nationalism, that is for the past. We are all friends now. We are all one.
Have you any idea how many international friends I have because you funded my journey’s in one or the other way? Because you offered me the opportunity to study and work in other places?
Do you know that I have indeed more international friends than from my own home country?
How could you let me live in the belief I could be working for a great international organization one day? How could you encourage me to study what I have studied that is not applicable if you restore borders? Or dissolve our union?
How can you destroy what I thought was secure just because you don’t believe in it? How can you nourish others with your fear? How can you not interact with each other?
Do you do that to increase your own power?
All you had to do is keeping things the way they were to correspond the promises you made to me.
Just stay like it. Just make sure we do not have another war upcoming and enough work for everyone.
Now, it is like you are destroying the platform for your promises. You are ignoring laws that you signed to do so. You are ignoring so that you can destroy. You take away decades of work while acting illegally. For what may I ask?
Maybe I better say:
Dear criminals,
How do you sleep well? Have you ever heard of social responsibility? Legal responsibility? Were you all lonely children yourself that take vengeance now for your own satisfaction?
You decide to destroy the planet for economic reasons.
You decide to cut social expenses for economic reasons.
You decide to dissolve all borders for economic reasons.
Why do you change the only thing that I like about it? I am up all night listening to your disputes about who gets what and I am getting depressed. I am fearful and my grades are getting worse. My perspectives are getting worse.
Seriously, is there anything you do agree about?
Is there anything you want to tell me?
Is there anything that I can do to make you stop?
Is it my fault?
I must say this is not a stable environment for a human being. I feel insecure. Nobody cares about me.
Why do you ignore me whom you raised? I am your child.
When did you become criminals and why?
What am I supposed to do when you do not take responsibility for your actions?
Or worse, what if I become and think like you?
Or even worse, what if someone makes you take responsibility and you will be gone? How am I supposed to live without you? Can you tell me?
I think you cannot. You are the worst parents. I think you ignore me because looking at me would mean thinking of consequences. But all you want is care about are your own feelings. You are selfish.
You know how that hurts? I believed in you. You made me believe in you. I got raised believing in you. Why do you let me down?
Don’t let me down, please.
My childish heart wants you to be together, forever and ever and ever. Why don’t you give me that? Why do you ignore me? Why do you hate me? I don’t hate you.
What have I done to deserve this?
