Home (Box Productions) – the debut feature by Swiss/Belgian director Ursula Meier – will open the 23rd Namur International Francophone Film Festival (September 26-October 3), and is among the 14 titles vying for the Golden Bayard.

The film’s two stars, Isabelle Huppert (“Coup de cœur” at this year’s edition) and Belgian actor Olivier Gourmet (honorary president of the event), will be in attendance.

Unveiled in Cannes Critics’ Week and winner of the Valois Award for Best Director at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival, Home will be launched in French theatres on October 29 – two weeks after its release in French-speaking Switzerland.

Three other Swiss films will screen out of competition in the Regards section. These include Vincent Pluss’ Du bruit dans la tête (“Noise in the Head”) and documentaries Back To Christopolis by Klaus Pas and The Mother by Antoine Cattin and Pavel Kostomarov.

The festival is also hosting the fifth Francophone Production Forum, in which nine film projects will be presented. Invited as an expert, filmmaker Lionel Baier (Another Man) has selected Naima Bachiri’s Né un 1er août (“Born One August 1st”, Akka Films).
