Cafébabel is proud to announce a new media partnership with Are We Europe!

That’s it, it’s already the end of 2017. And guess what? We survived.

It’s not only thanks to our incredible community of volunteer journalists, translators, photographers and filmmakers, but also thanks to our spanking new media partnerships.

There’s Mes Datas et Moi, a French platform that focuses on the digitalisation of our societies. There’s Girlshood Magazine, a badass webzine for unconventional women. There’s Sans A_, another French media platform that does humanitarian journalism by making ‘invisible’ people in society more visible. But we also starting riding radio waves with Radio Neo’s bi-monthly chronicle called “French Crush”.

As always, we want to end the year with a bang. Saving the best for last, we’d like to announce a match made in heaven: our partnership with Are We Europe. If you haven’t already heard about them, they are a media collective that publishes a thematic online magazine every month. They are a European initiative (like us), they love storytelling (like us) and they are young (like us).

It was only logical that we would end up sat around the same table, talking about a potential partnership. What we didn’t know was just how much we had in common.

Before we knew that Are We Europe was preparing their new issue on food, Cafébabel was also preparing a new series of articles on alternative diets called “Voglio Mangiare Così”. Even though we will be coming out with our series mid-January, we thought it would be best to play around with the theme we had in common by making a video. And that’s how “A European Feast” was born! Keep your eyes peeled for the full video on our Facebook page...

We’re also going to be republishing three articles from Are We Europe’s food issue. The first is on the Krainer sausage, a largely contested product that sparked a European food fight. The second is a photo series on what drunk people eat in London’s Shoreditch, and the third is a gonzo piece on what it’s like to eat in Paris’ first ever nudist bistro.

That’s all for now, folks! We wish you all the best for the holidays and the new year.

Love,

Your favourite European magazine.
