Sophia Walker is a slam poet and teaching artist originally from the US. We came across the BBC Scottish slam champion at the Edinburgh book festival's impro slam, which she deservedly won. Sophia Walker: Perhaps, how did you feel about being arrested? Did you feel your freedom of speech was being violated?

Sophia Walker: I recited a poem in Vietnam and there were two undercover cops. I was mainly just pissed off that they misinterpreted the poem.
Someone once asked me, if you were an erotic balloon, what sort of erotic balloon would you be? I didn’t even know there was such a thing as erotic balloons.
