We met the lovely Pauline Füg at a poetry slam in Göttingen in December. As well as slamming at events from Hanover to Munich, Pauline leads poetry workshops, and has brought out a collection 'Die Abschaffung des Ponys'
cafebabel.com: What poem would you take to a desert island?
Pauline Füg: I think I'd take 'The Wasteland' with me. Hmm, I'd have to think about that - maybe a collection by TS Eliot. Or something else - I'd need to have a think...
cafebabel.com: If you ran away, where would you run away to?
Pauline Füg: I'd travel round the world - I'd go everywhere. It's really hard to decide, but I'd probably go somewhere warm first, but then I'd check out colder places too - maybe Iceland.
cafebabel.com: Do you have a favourite line or fragment of poetry?

cafebabel.com: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Pauline Füg: I recently wrote a poem called 'When I grow up, I want to have a tree house'. I should probably be grown up already, but I don't think I ever really will grow up...
cafebabel.com: What slam poet would you take with you to a desert island, or to some place solitary?
Pauline Füg: I think I'd take Katja Hoffmann with me - because Katja's a great person, and a great poet, and you could definitely survive with her.
