In our wide and great European union, all languages spoken in every member State are officially recognized equal and considered as an “official language of the EU”. This is how we come up, today, with a nice total of some twenty languages … impressing, isn’t it ?
But the linguistic reality happened to make some languages more equal than others …
Indeed, only three of them have the status of working languages : English, French and German. The Parisian Corner already had its English and its French version, but German was still terribly lacking, though the team counted many over-Rhine species.
This was breaking our heart, bruising our affection for Germany and a deep sadness invaded us as we thought about all those Germans missing so many high quality articles …
But now, we feel happy ! This posting is here to officially announce the launching of the German version of The Parisian Corner ! You, German public, will never be left apart anymore by these arrogant French !
After a long effort of recruitment (thanks Katharina), the Parisian local team managed to find some generous translators speaking Goethe’s language, and most of them are German. Indeed, we must confess that Goethe’s language is not so trendy among French schoolgirls and schoolboys… Why? It’s not because they don’t like Germany and want to conquer the Sarre area, but more because “Spanish is easy”. Obvious, isn’t it?
From now on, don’t hesitate to comment, debate, criticise whatever we may publish in these columns. And, of course, if you ever want to join the adventure, let us know!
