I am grateful for a chance to take part in the workshop organized by European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA). It was tackling the issue of “Effective Fundraising for Venture Philanthropy”. Here you can check the description of the workshop. These terms along with “social entrepreneurship” are quite common these days.
Difficult financial situation made charitable organizations think about how to make more impact with less, where is the money, is there any? Venture Philanthropy is one of the practical win-win models and already a success in the world that can answer to these questions. All of terms mentioned are connected closely and it is interesting to see what different forms it takes in the countries around the world. So the workshop not only gave a wider perspective, but also made it practical. There are two foundations in Lithuania developing venture philanthropy and social entrepreneurship. Civic Responsibility Foundation brought this model to the country and very soon the good practice started to spread. Our Foundation was a pioneer organization which also added the social enterprise – first in a country charity store. Feel free to contact for more information about the social entrepreneurship in the Lithuanian context. Pictures are here and there : )
