Cafébabel is looking for a video editor

Created on

There comes a time when every young journalist makes their first foray into the professional world. Cafébabel is currently offering a video editor position for one dynamic young professional or student looking to expand their portfolio and gain amazing hands-on experience.

Are you passionate about journalism and Europe? Would you fancy joining the Cafébabel team? Or maybe you are wondering where to complete a required internship to finish your studies? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we are looking for you!

NOTE!

Cafébabel is a non-profit organisation, and therefore, cannot provide remunerated internships. We feel your pain and would be happy to provide any documentation necessary for funding (such as through the Erasmus + programme or scholarships provided by your university). The internship would take place in our Paris headquarters for a maximum of two months on a part-time or full-time basis. Trainees must also have a 'convention de stage', meaning that the intern should be a student and/or require a placement to complete their studies.

About us

Cafébabel is a European participatory online magazine published in five languages, led by a dynamic community of young citizen journalists from all over Europe. The project, which is co-funded by the European Commission, was established in 2001 as an initiative of a group of Erasmus students from different countries. Our editorial office is located in the 2nd arrondissement in Paris. The editorial team is composed of five editors who are passionate about journalism in Europe, multilingual, fun-loving and open to sharing our knowledge with you. Three of them work from BerlinRome and Madrid.

We're looking for:

One motivated, young video enthusiastic with a creative mind and personal storytelling skills looking for a breakthrough experience in journalism under the mentorship of the editorial coordinator. It is imperative that you speak a bit of French, another language is a plus. Our future colleague should have a passion for current European affairs and be familiar with the concept of participatory journalism. Those with excellent communication skills, creativity, love for learning, a fun personality and curiosity about the world are particularly encouraged to apply. Motivation is very important for this placement, as this opportunity is a learning experience meant to help you grow as a journalist and receive one-on-one guidance in a professional context.
