Babel international members have elected a new board

Our Ex­tra­or­di­nary Gen­eral As­sem­bly fol­lowed 3 days of amaz­ing learn­ing & brain­storm­ing ses­sions at our ShakeUp Eu­rope 2014 Sem­i­nar. 40 local team lead­ers from the Cafeba­bel net­work and part­ner or­ga­ni­za­tions (Youth4­Me­dia, Nisi ­Masa, Eu­ro­pean Youth Press, Eu­ro­pean Youth Par­lia­ment) had the chance to learn from each other and co-con­struct pro­jects that will shape the fu­ture of Eu­ro­pean media. 

Thank you again for mak­ing this a high­light of our net­work life. Let's keep this in­spir­ing and en­er­gic com­mu­nity spirit alive !

On be­half of the whole net­work, I would like to warmly thank our pre­vi­ous pres­i­dent, Mana Li­vard­jani, and the whole pre­vi­ous Steer­ing Com­mit­tee team, for their great work and com­mit­ment over the last 4 years. A huge thanks to out­go­ing mem­bers Roel Hoen­ders (Trea­surer), Lucie Dupin (Babel Stras­bourg) and Clara Far­jardo (Babel Es­pana) who re­main around as ac­tive ba­belians or friends of the Cafeba­bel net­work.

I am ho­n­oured to lead the ef­forts of the new Steer­ing Com­mit­tee team, whose top pri­or­ity will be to sup­port and mon­i­tor the im­ple­men­ta­tion of our Strate­gic plan 2014-2017 that will be car­ried out by Alexan­dre Heully, our Ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor. 

1) Re­main­ing a lead­ing and in­no­v­a­tive actor in the Eu­ro­pean media en­vi­ron­ment

2) In­creas­ing Cafeba­bel pro­file and vis­i­bil­ity to a wider au­di­ence

3) Im­prov­ing our offer to con­trib­u­tors, the net­work and com­mu­nity

4) En­sur­ing fi­nan­cial sus­tain­abil­ity

5) En­hanc­ing trans­parency and pe­for­mance

Five strate­gic pri­or­i­ties that re­late to key ac­tions and tar­gets for Babel In­ter­na­tional. Ex­cit­ing chal­lenges ahead for our Paris-based Eu­ro­pean Cen­tral Team (RCE), our vol­un­teer com­mu­nity from all around Eu­rope and our ded­i­cated Steer­ing Com­mit­tee.
